Update!
Friday. 8.31.07 1:41 pm
I've been into Facebook for this whole week. If you don't know what it is, it's like MySpace, but a lot more "in control" with what it's doing. It 'feels' better, and has a better cumminty which is supported by a great security system which prevents spam and stupid accounts (for example, accounts which are primarily made to promote goods or advertise adult sites).

Also, I've been updating my blog circle with my other blogs. I'm not really doing much to them other than keeping them up to hep others (such as my "make money online" blog and other blogs which are related to games and other hobbies).

So this is pretty much all for now, nothing much else is on the cards!

After thinking about it for a while, I decided I should continue work on one of my better pieces of writing. I only wrote up to the second chapter, but I have spent the last hour and 20 minutes reading over these chapters and adjusting where nescessary. I have also compiled a small plotline which details enough for me to write about. On average each chapter holds about 7 pages in size 11 Garamond font, with around 4,500 words. with these estimations, I can safely say my book will be around 98 pages, with around 63,000 words. So, a "short novel", if you will.

I'm not sure what the conversion rate is between a standard 'slightly smaller then A3' sized novel compared to my A4 calculations above, but either way I'm considering this piece of work a "short novel" for casual readers.

So far I've received completely positive feedback on the storyline of these two openings chapters so far from around 10 people and so I hope this (very small) trend continues. 9 of the 10 people wanted me to sell them the rest of the book, whereas the 10th person gave me their details and to let them know when I'm publishing it. Once my book is near completion (possibly around Easter next year) I shall post a few dates up here when I'll be promoting my book around my local area. Online sales won't be for a while after, once I know how successful the book will do in Britain.

No details of the book's storyline, topic or nature will be revealed on here - or anywhere else - until it it successfully copywritten under law globally to prevent theft of my characters, situations, ideas and concepts.

I will be posting a teaser chapter of my 'work in progress' over on deviantART once it's ready, so you can head on over there and read about it and give me your comments either on there (if you're a member) or on here if you are not.

New blog on the block
Wednesday. 7.25.07 8:25 am

I've recently been trying out the Opera browser, since Firefox kept crashing on me all the time.

Opera offers their community a free little blog area thing in which you can upload photos, links, join their forum, enter some competitions and all sorts. They've recently reached over 900,000 members and it's still growing!

It's no MySpace, but it's certainly a good-looking community. I've not had enough time yet to look around properly, but I'll update you on that later.

So, basically, if you're a bit bored of firefox, tired of the same old IE or still don't know why Avant is a bit poor, try Opera and see.

The only minor thing is for some reason, whenever I try to sign into Hotmail, I have to do it four times in a row. Twice on their 'old' layout, and two on their new "Windows Live!" layout, saying my password is incorrect, but on the fourth time, bam! I'm in. Weird.

Oh yeah, a quick note, you'll notice some banners floating around on some posts. They're going to always be on those posts, and on the lower area of my blog's main page (under Adsense) as this earns me an extra £5 ($10) per month. Good stuff.

Stuffz goin' onz
Monday. 7.16.07 11:23 am

Today I had my third driving lesson, and was instructed to do 6 "three point turns", which are now officially called a "Turn In The Road". Doesn't matter if you can't turn the car around in 3 moves, as long as you do it safely you're fine.

He said.

So I did that, and all was good and we went for a drive around the local area before coming home. £38 big ones (Around $80) for a two hour lesson! Well, it's worth it. I wouldn't want some guy who gets annoyed or finds it hard to explain thigns to me. =D

Also, I've just been browsing around the internet (mainly youtube.com) and I came across this video:

Now, I've seen something similar to this, but this one was done a lot better. This'll definately appeal to the Zelda fans, and maybe so to those of you who haven't played the game, but know about Link's inability to speak.

So that was a good haul. Newgrounds is down for the moment as they're refurbishing their site - making it sleeker and generally more better then it initially was, so I'm waiting eagerly for that to open.

Onto Half-Life news, they've nearly completed the Orange Box and it will be expected to be released in Q3 of this year, which it better be, because I've been looking forward to that game package for AGES.

I've spent some of my cash on four games. Well, five, but I'll explain. I had some trouble with a company with one of their games. It wouldn't work on my system, basically. After some research I found it to be a blacklisted game and I couldn't find a way to fix the error at the time, so I wanted a refund. They said "fine" and sent me a replacement game instead, after I asked them "where's my refund?" four days later. "Okay...?" I said, and got the game. The *same* game.

Again.

So I sent it back, saying "I want a refund, including a refund on the £1.20 I've spent sending th games back to you". He said "okay". Four days later I say "Where's my refund?" and he says "I've sent you a replacement game and refunded you the price of the game, but not the price of the postage" so now I'm like "Ooookaaaay...?"

Either way I got 90% of what I asked for, after almost two weeks. So, after all that, I've got a game that won't work on my system and spent £1.20 getting it. Nice.

But at least I bought "Beyond Good and Evil", "SWAT 4", "Psychonauts" and "Conflict: Desert Storm". Old games, yes, but I like them. I've done the whole Doom 3 + expansion, Quake 4, Half-Life 2 and Gears of War stuff. Waiting on buying Lost Planet for my PC soon, or maybe Xbox 360. Depends if I can get a new processor off eBay by then for my PC.

That's all for now, check back soon 'cos I've got some ideas for my Kadtoon t-shirts coming up! Wahoo!
